Health accident assistance insurance cover can provide a level of financial protection if you have a medical accident or event. Find out more.

Having a medical or health accident that results in an injury isn’t something that we probably like to think about, but unfortunately sometimes life just happens. If you want to be prepared in case of a health accident, so you and your loved ones have some financial protection in place, just in case, PSA’s Personal Accident cover might be right for you.

Health accident assistance covers are included in PSA’s Personal Accident cover, and means that if you are involved in an accident or medical incident that leaves you with an injury or disability, you can receive a sum of money to help you with some of the practicalities in the aftermath.

Are personal accident and health insurance the same thing?

A personal accident and health insurance policy are not quite the same thing. PSA’s Personal Accident cover includes some health assistance elements to help with your recovery after the accident but does not include standalone standard health insurance cover. The features and benefits of PSA’s Personal Accident cover can include:

  • A compensation to be paid out if you suffer a medical accident
  • A compensation to be paid out if you sustain a disability as a result of an accident
  • A pay out towards health and medical expenses, such as for prescriptions and consultations
  • A sum paid towards hospitalisation fees
  • A sum towards funeral expenses if the accident proves fatal
  • A sum paid towards therapy sessions after the accident to aid psychological recovery
  • A sum paid towards home assistance in the aftermath of the accident e.g. childcare costs or help with household tasks and daily living
With PSA Insurance Solutions, you can choose to include optional elements to extend your cover further, and you can add your dependent children to your adult policy for no additional cost.

How much does health accident assistance cover cost?

The cost of a personal accident insurance policy, which includes some health accident assistance benefits, will vary, depending on the level of cover you choose. There are various basic levels of cover, but you can also add in some additional features and benefits, which will increase the monthly premiums.

We think it’s important that you are able to tailor the cover to best meet the needs of you and your family, making sure it fits with your individual circumstances. If you do undergo a medical accident and are left injured or with a disability, you can provide your loved ones with some financial protection with this type of insurance from PSA. The sum of money paid out can help you in your recovery, help your family to pay essential bills or deal with practical financial issues so that you can get on with recovering from the incident and moving forward with your life.
